Boat and Watercraft Appraisal Services Florida | Marine Valuations for Insurance, Sales & Estates

Whether you need a vessel valuation for insurance, financing, an estate, or the sale of a boat, a professional marine appraisal provides a documented opinion of fair market value prepared by an experienced marine surveyor. Appraisal reports are commonly accepted by banks, insurance companies, attorneys, and other organizations that require an independent vessel valuation.

A Marine Appraisal Survey is performed to determine the fair market value of a vessel for financial, legal, insurance, or ownership-related purposes. Appraisal surveys are commonly requested for financing, estate settlements, divorce proceedings, charitable donations, tax documentation, asset management, and other situations requiring a professionally documented vessel valuation.

During the appraisal process, the vessel’s overall condition, age, equipment, maintenance history, construction type, and current market conditions are considered when determining value. The inspection may include documentation of major structural, mechanical, electrical, and onboard systems as well as an evaluation of installed equipment, upgrades, and overall vessel presentation.

As a Professional Engineer with experience in structural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, I provide clients with a detailed and technically informed assessment of vessel condition and value. Particular attention is given to factors that may impact long-term reliability, safety, depreciation, and marketability.  I prepare appraisal reports with the same attention to detail I bring to every marine survey. My goal is to provide a well-supported valuation that accurately reflects the vessel's condition and current market while giving clients confidence that the report will stand up to scrutiny from lenders, insurers, attorneys, or other parties.

Professional marine surveyors are recognized by banks, insurance companies, attorneys, courts, and the IRS as qualified vessel appraisers within their area of expertise. A detailed written appraisal report is provided following the inspection and may be used to support lending requirements, legal documentation, insurance evaluations, tax reporting, and ownership transactions.

Marine appraisal surveys are available for yachts, sport fishing vessels, center consoles, sailboats, pontoon boats, commercial vessels, and other recreational watercraft located throughout Central Florida and coastal communities including Orlando, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Melbourne, Titusville, Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Port Canaveral, and surrounding areas.
