Why Choose SS Marine Surveying?

ALL SURVEYS ARE PERFORMED BY CAPTAIN SCOTT

Choosing a marine surveyor is an important part of protecting your investment. My credentials include SAMS® Surveyor Associate, Professional Engineer (PE), United States Coast Guard OUPV Captain, and ABYC Certified Advisor. Whether you are purchasing a vessel, renewing insurance coverage, or seeking an appraisal, you need an objective assessment performed by someone with the technical knowledge and practical experience to identify deficiencies and evaluate vessel condition.

These credentials represent a unique combination of engineering expertise, marine surveying standards, boating knowledge, and vessel systems experience. By combining formal technical training with practical on-the-water experience, I am able to evaluate vessels from both an engineering and operational perspective, providing clients with thorough and practical assessments.

With more than two decades of hands-on boating experience, I understand the systems, structures, and maintenance challenges commonly encountered in recreational vessels. Every survey is conducted with attention to detail and documented through comprehensive reporting and photographs to help clients make informed decisions.

As an independent marine surveyor, my objective is to provide accurate, unbiased information regarding a vessel's condition.  Regardless of the size of the vessel, I strive to deliver professional service, clear communication, and reports that are useful to buyers, owners, lenders, and insurance underwriters.
