Marine Damage Surveys are performed following an accident, collision, grounding, storm event, fire, sinking, lightning strike, or other incident resulting in damage to a vessel. These surveys are commonly requested by vessel owners, insurance companies, attorneys, marinas, and other interested parties to document the condition of the vessel and evaluate the extent of damage.
The purpose of a damage survey is to identify affected components, assess the severity of structural or system-related damage, and assist with repair planning, insurance claims, and claim resolution. Inspections may include evaluation of hull structure, decks, transoms, bulkheads, propulsion systems, electrical systems, mechanical equipment, and other onboard components impacted by the incident.
As a Professional Engineer experienced in structural and MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) systems, I provide a detailed technical assessment of vessel damage and repair considerations. Particular attention is given to structural integrity, electrical safety concerns, corrosion, water intrusion, fire-related damage, and hidden deficiencies that may affect vessel safety, reliability, or long-term performance.
Damage surveys may also include documentation of repair recommendations, repair monitoring, photographic evidence, and evaluation of completed repairs when required. Reports are prepared in a clear and organized format suitable for insurance documentation, repair planning, and technical reference.
Marine damage surveys are available for yachts, center consoles, sailboats, sport fishing vessels, commercial vessels, and other recreational watercraft throughout Central Florida and coastal communities including Orlando, Cape Canaveral, Cocoa Beach, Merritt Island, Melbourne, Titusville, Daytona Beach, New Smyrna Beach, Port Canaveral, and surrounding areas.
